Installing the Fir BeadBoard ceiling on the back porch
Well, we were upset the contractor did not complete the back porch job and left the ceiling with the rough wood. We decided to do the ceiling ourselves and not deal with them anymore. We were lucky enough to find 18' length fir beadboard at our local lumber yard (Arlington Coal and Lumber). We were able to install the tough and groove panels without having to stagger or cut the panels much. I finished off the trim with high-grade clear SPAR varnish. For the trim with used white composite panels and cut them to size. This was tricky as it was irregular in shape. I created a template and cut the panels using those measurements. The composite is easy to sand so I sanded the edges the best I could to make it fit.'

He used a scrap panel to secure the next tongue and grove in the right spot.
