All Season Sun Porch!

It's been some time since I last posted and a lot has happened with our family and our evolving home.

Last winter we insulated, installed all new double pan windows, painted, installed new floor, new trim and crown moulding and decorated our enclosed front porch.  This space was used as the kids art studio for many years and our daughter was very sad to see it go but now spends many afternoons reading and hanging out in the new space.

We had some mishaps with the blown-in insulation ; despite Brett's careful communication to the project manager not to damage the almost 100 year old patina's wainscot ceiling.  The workers mistakenly drilled 4 inch holes on the ceiling!  It was a mess, and tempers flew.  The plan was to inject the insulation along the sides where our carpenter pulled the existing crown molding.  Plans don't always go they way you want I've learned.  Our carpenter was able to repair the holes by salvaging some of the wainscotting and replacing it.  He did a fantastic job and you can only tell if we point out the damage stops.

The space doubles as an occasional guest room with the West Elm Sleeper Sofa.  This sunroom houses many plants now and feels like a retreat.
